THE NET offers you the client a sliding scale of rates for data usage and online tracking solutions. The scale is designed to offer you savings based on the degree of accuracy and the access level you require.
Data Usage Our AVL tracking units are programmable to either send GPRS signals to our online tracking platform or SMS messages directly to your mobile phone. We promote the use of the Tesltra network for accuracy with tracking, as Telstra has a wider area coverage through its 3G and NextG networks. Our units comfortably operate through both 3G and NextG networks. Though we are not a Telstra Dealer, we do however supply Telstra data SIM cards for GPRS signalling as part of our competitive rates based on a sliding scale of time intervals and veer report settings that will allow you to gain the accuracy that you require. You are urged to supply your own SIM card for SMS tracking to your phone, as no discounts are available to us for this service. Our rate for SMS messages is a flat 35cents per message (Minimums apply).
AVL Tracking is generally used for two types of tracking:
1. Beacon - a beacon is the term used when a units it tracked several times a day so the location of the unit can be seen.
2. Live Tracking - live tracking is the term used when accuracy is required, and the patch that the unit takes need to be seen. This can be improved by lowering the signal intervals and by adding veer reporting. Tracking intervals can be set as low as 10 second apart. The veer reporting function signals when the unit changes direction by more than a predefined degree from the direction it is travelling. We recommend between 15 – 45 degree veer reporting depending on the accuracy required.
Naturally the cost for data increases as improved accuracy is required. A beacon that signals every 24 hours is the most cost effective, where live tracking at 10 second intervals with a 15 degree veer is the least cost effective. Our data rates will give you a wide range of tracking options to choose from. All rates offered are based on a 12 month contract.
We accept payments through PayPal for private users who want to pay in advance on a monthly basis (12 months minimum contract), or we offer a 5% discount where payment is received by cash/credit card for the full 12 months in advance. For corporate clients that purchase 10 or more units we offer quarterly billing in advance, and accept direct deposit or credit card payment on 14 day from invoice terms. Corporate accounts are based on a minimum 24 month contract.
Where you choose to supply your own SIM card, we will program the unit for you with the settings you require. Should you choose this option then we do not offer support with data communication issues. SMS tracking is the most expensive option for any client, and is only recommended when locating the unit is done through the Track on Demand settings. This is where the client either prank calls or SMS’s the unit to gain its current location. Our staff will happily explain this option for you.
Tracking Options With our AVL tracking there are several options for tracking the units. These options range from our state of the art online tracking platform through to self tracking via your mobile phone. The option you chose will dictate the rate structure you are charged.
Online Desktop This option allows you to track the unit on your desktop/laptop computer through our internet site www.thenet.net.au From our website you simply select the ‘Online’ login button and you will be diverted to a secure login page that will require your username and password to proceed past that point. From this point your online access is encrypted through our SSL (Secure Socket Layers) connection, which will ensure your browsing and personal information is protected from internet fraud. The basic Online package (User Level) allows you access at a user level to view your unit/s as well as execute commands and basic reporting. We offer an advanced package (Account Level) for corporate clients that will give you your own account with full administration and an advanced reporting package.
Online Mobile This option allows you to track the unit on your iPhone/iPad or Android phone/tablet through our internet site www.thenet.net.au From our website you simply select the ‘Mobile’ login button and you will be diverted to a secure login page that will require your username and password to proceed past that point. From this point your online access is encrypted through our SSL (Secure Socket Layers) connection, which will ensure your browsing and personal information is protected from internet fraud. The same system is available to both Basic & Advanced user levels.
Track on Demand Mobile This option allows you to track the unit on your mobile phone by either prank calling the unit or sending it an SMS. By prank calling the unit (ring and hang up after 3 rings) it will respond by sending your mobile phone an SMS with the basic longitude and latitude coordinates, which you can copy into Google maps to display the location of the unit. When sending an SMS to the unit you have 2 options.
1. Coordinates only - This option is used with basic mobile phones. We will provide you with the SMS command to send the unit. The unit will again respond by sending your mobile phone an SMS with the basic longitude and latitude coordinates, which you can copy into Google maps to display the location of the unit.
2. Google Map - This option is used with internet ready touch screen mobile phones. We will provide you with the SMS command to send the unit. The unit will respond by sending your mobile phone an SMS with a Google map link. When you select this link your mobile phone will display a Google map with the units location.
The Track on Demand mobile option is free of charge to you as the user if you supply your own SIM card. Again... if you require us to provide the SIM card for GPRS or SMS tracking, then a standard 35cent charge will apply to any SMS that is sent from the unit. Where we provide the SIM card for GPRS tracking, and the unit sends you an SMS responses to your requests, the charges will be added to your next monthly payment. Where we are required to provide you with the SIM card for SMS tracking, our charges will be based on a minimum of 100 SMS’s per month as the standard flag fall, and any extra charges will be invoiced separately on a monthly basis
